Samsung SGH i550Samsung officially announced its first GPS navigator smartphone SGH-i550 at the Symbian Smartphone Show in London. The i550 is based on Symbian OS 9.2 which includes the second version of the S60 browser, Flash Lite 2.0 support and a variety of UI refinements.

The base feature of the i550 is the GPS built in but it is not clear if there will be any accompanying software although the i550 should be able to run any of the available GPS software on the market including Nokia Maps.
With the GPS navigator function, voice activated turn-by-turn guidance makes it easy for car drivers to find directions while pedestrian mode offers specific locations and directions at walking speeds.

Equipped with memory 128 MB RAM, 2.6-inch LCD, 3.2M camera, 150MB of internal user memory, battery capacity 1200 mAh and an FM radio. It will be available in Europe from November 2007.

The i550 is a WCDMA and GSM 900/1800/1900 MHz with GPRS, EDGE and HSDPA for data connectivity. Mini USB 2.0 and Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP and AVRCP provide local connectivity options.

The i550 will be available in Europe from November 2007. The pricing of has not been officially announced but a price of 400 Euro has been mentioned at various events.
